A Kisumu-bound Jambojet plane from the capital Nairobi was on Tuesday, March 26, evening ordered to return to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) following failed attempts to land in Kisumu,
The plane was reportedly incapable of landing at the lakeside city due to bad weather.
According to a report published by Citizen TV, evening rainfall in the Kisumu resulted in poor visibility caused by bad weather.
Passengers who were set to fly to Nairobi on the plane were hence booked in the Wednesday, March 27, morning flight.
The other airlines — including Fly 540, Kenya Airways, Safarilink, and Silverstone — however, had their normal landings and took off.
Jambojet airline is often the last flight to land and takes off at the Kisumu International Airport in the evening with the timing now changed to 7 pm as a result of the ongoing runway repairs.
