Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has rejected the development of the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NAMATA).
The Governor said that there was no arrangement between the region and national governments.
NAMATA was made a year ago by President Uhuru Kenyatta through an Executive Order under the empowering arrangements of the State Corporations Act.
The specialist was relied upon to cover the areas of Nairobi City, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Murang’a.

The move by Sonko is probably going to strain the fragile connection between City Hall and State House.
In January, the Nairobi County Boss charged people ‘near State House’ of meddling with the running of undertakings at City Hall.
