Essential Function of the Position:


The position serves as the Administrative Clerk supporting the Nairobi Regional Diplomatic Courier Operations, and from the Frankfurt Regional Diplomatic Courier Division (FRDCD).

Nairobi is a hub that provides courier operations for nine (9) posts in Africa.

The incumbent supports these regional operations and also serves as the classified pouch clerk for the Embassy;

Preparing outbound pouches, receiving inbound material and distributing that material and ensuring accountability using the pouch module in the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS).


Qualifications and Evaluations



Experience: Minimum of one-year administrative work experience is required.


Education Requirements:

Completion of High School is required.



Language: Level IV (Fluent) reading/speaking/writing) of English is required.

  • A “certification” is any written document from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions within 120 days after the applicant submits the certification.
  • The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.
  • Acceptable documentation must be submitted for the preference to be given.
  • This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on
  • LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
